Your Opportunity

As the Human Resources Business Partner you will be responsible for:

Assist the Director, Human Resources, in the achievement of the Corporate Human Resources Team outcomes through management of the day-to-day activities of staff, research and analysis of human resource management issues and provision of consultancy services across the TAFE Queensland Corporate Office.

This position reports to the Manager Human Resources, Corporate Office and is a Permanent Full time opportunity.

The position will be based primarily at Mount Gravatt however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.

Key Responsibilities

Consult and guide Corporate Office directors and managers to achieve their business goals in the interpretation and application of human resource policies, processes and systems across a broad range of human resource management functions.
Provide high level advice and support to managers to undertake informal and formal performance management processes including case management.
Understand and interpret employee relations legislation, policies/guidelines and manage processes/ procedures relevant to staff discipline, employee complaints and performance matters as required.
Encourage an environment in which high quality, best practice HR services are delivered by continually seeking and recommending improvements in systems and processes and leading by example.
Maintain high levels of communication to effectively liaise, negotiate, consult and problem solvewith a diverse range of stakeholders, including internal and external clients.
Coordinate and prepare reports, briefings, operational plans, and correspondence relating tohuman resources, health and wellbeing issues for executive endorsement and/or approval.
Assist with the coordination and implementation of wellness and wellbeing initiatives for staff across TAFE Queensland.
Build and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders to effectively drive projects with a focus to achieve business unit and organisational outcomes.
Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focusing on our customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.

How you will be assessed

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:

Demonstrated high level knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply contemporary legislation, awards, agreements, policies and procedures in a public sector environment.
Demonstrated highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the abilityto manage the flow of people and business, liaise and consult with internal and external stakeholders regarding sensitive and confidential matters, maintain effective working relationships in a high - pressure environment.
Demonstrated ability to contribute to developing plans, strategies, team goals and the ability to think creatively in a changing environment.
Demonstrated personal drive and integrity through adoption of positive and balanced approach to work in a complex and competitive organisation.
Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills including negotiation with the capacity toresolve issues and manage dispute/grievance resolution and advocacy.
