Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized, and experienced Event Production Specialist to lead the production and fabrication of special exhibitions, museums, events, etc. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in logistics, on-site project management, art handling, and production coordination to help us deliver exceptional, immersive visitor experiences that reflect our institution’s curatorial and educational goals.

Essential Duties Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement exhibition production plans, ensuring seamless execution and adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Provide on-floor supervision and coordination during installation phases, managing teams of technicians, carpenters, and other production staff.
• Collaborate cross-functionally within the team and other vendors.
• Generate production drawings using drafting software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Vectorworks; create detailed BOQs and supervise material procurement.
• Determine scope and selection of external contractors for specialized fabrication, art handling, and design services.
• Manage outsourced production of mockups and prototypes, ensuring quality control and timely delivery.
• Maintain and oversee tools, equipment, and material inventories for production units.
• Contribute to budget planning and execution, monitor costs, and ensure alignment with allocated budgets.
• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules including staff assignments, installation timelines, and integration with museum operations.
• Research and implement new technologies, materials, and best practices in the field of museum production and design.

Required Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Architecture, Design, Design Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in exhibition production, event setup, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience with art handling, packing, and logistics.
• Strong proficiency in production drawing tools (CAD, Revit, Vectorworks, etc.) and creation of BOQs.
• Ability to manage multiple, complex projects simultaneously with attention to detail and strong time management.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate, delegate, and collaborate across departments.
• Capable of maintaining professionalism and discretion in a high-paced, creative environment.
• Strong leadership and mentorship capabilities, with experience managing production teams and technical staff.
• Knowledge of materials, fabrication processes, and exhibit construction techniques.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Working knowledge of Vectorworks, Rhino, SketchUp, or related softwares.
• Experience working with museum-quality mounts, AV integration, or digital exhibition design.
• Familiarity with material practices in exhibit/event/museum production.
