Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Recruiter and Employee Retention Specialist to join our team in the HVAC service industry. This role is critical to our continued growth and success—responsible for recruiting top field and office talent, and building programs that keep our employees engaged, appreciated, and loyal.
The ideal candidate understands the unique challenges of hiring in the skilled trades and knows how to build strong relationships with technicians, installers, office staff, and leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities: Recruiting – Skilled Trades Office Staff
Source, attract, and recruit top-tier HVAC technicians, installers, dispatchers, and office personnel.
Partner with hiring managers to identify current and future staffing needs.
Post jobs on appropriate platforms
Screen resumes, conduct interviews, and manage offer letters and onboarding.
Build relationships with local trade schools, training programs, and community organizations to develop a talent pipeline.
Manage applicant tracking and recruitment metrics (e.g., time-to-fill, source effectiveness).
Employee Retention Engagement
Implement retention programs tailored to skilled labor needs (e.g., mentorship, training, tool allowance, "career pathing")
Conduct stay interviews and exit interviews to assess satisfaction and identify trends
Recommend and support initiatives to improve morale, reduce turnover, and recognize employee contributions
Collaborate with leadership to refine onboarding, training, and career development strategies
Support a strong culture of skill, respect, and accountability on the job site and in the office.
Qualifications:
2–3+ years of experience in recruitment, preferably in the trades or construction/service industries
Familiarity with the HVAC industry, skilled labor market, or home services is a strong advantage
Strong relationship-building and communication skills with diverse employee groups
Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and recruitment tools.
Ability to manage multiple openings and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills Assets:
Fluent in English
Experience coordinating labor
Knowledge of employment law and labor regulations related to hourly workers
