Key Responsibilities:
• Patient Care:
• Conduct initial patient assessments and record medical histories.
• Develop individualized care plans based on patient needs and medical conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the medical team.
• Assist with patient hygiene, mobility, and daily activities.
• Clinical Duties:
• Perform routine nursing procedures such as IV insertions, catheterizations, wound care, and blood draws.
• Prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist during operations as needed.
• Provide post-operative care and monitor patient recovery.
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid or life support as required.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Coordinate patient care with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in patient medical records.
• Administrative Duties:
• Maintain nursing supplies and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
• Participate in the development and implementation of nursing policies and procedures.
• Attend staff meetings and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Education and Training:
• Stay current with nursing best practices, standards, and regulations through continuous education.
• Mentor and supervise junior nursing staff and nursing students.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
• Quality Improvement:
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives within the healthcare setting.
• Participate in audits and research projects to enhance patient care quality.
Qualifications:
• Education: Diploma or degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
• Licensure: Valid nursing license to practice as a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN).
• Experience: Relevant clinical experience, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
• Skills:
• Strong clinical and patient care skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and medical emergencies calmly.
Working Conditions:
• Schedule: Rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Environment: Hospital, clinic, or long-term care facility setting, requiring long periods of standing and potential exposure to infectious diseases.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting patients, moving equipment, and standing for extended periods.

The Staff Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse
