As a Manager, Restructuring your responsibilities include:
Work with partners to execute CCAA mandates, receiverships corporate bankruptcies, proposals, informal restructurings, and related consulting engagements
Correspond with all related parties of an engagement (i.e. creditors, debtors, landlords, and related counsel and government agencies)
Hold meetings and resolve disputes with stakeholders as required
Assume full accountability for the management and execution of files to ensure brand excellence and dominant market share
Provide leadership and coaching to junior team members
Ensure complex disputes and issues are escalated for resolution
Assess the viability of diverse business entities in a variety of industries
Provide oversight and control of business operations and asset sales
Assess a variety of business issues and working as part of a team in formulating recommendations to the Court, and/or to various stakeholders
Prepare written reports to the Court and/or to other stakeholders, in accordance with the mandate of the file
Collaborate with legal counsel in dealing with the legal elements of each mandate to effectively communicate and negotiate with a number of stakeholders with diverse interests
Maintain positive relationships with other corporate restructuring professionals including lawyers and representatives of lending institutions
Take an active role in industry organizations, events and firm marketing initiatives
Maintain professional competence and stay current in all technical and legal elements of a corporate restructuring practice
Adhere to all firm risk management policies and take active steps to minimize the risk exposure to the firm

Think you’ve got what it takes to be a Manager, Restructuring? Like the colour purple? Great. Here's a few more boxes we’re also hoping you can tick:
University Degree in Business or related field required
Ideally possess CPA, MBA, or CFA designation
Willingness to work towards a CIRP or LIT designation, which will be supported by Grant Thornton
Minimum of 3 - 4 years experience in accounting or finance roles with progressive experience
Knowledge of all insolvency proceedings
Strong financial modelling skills utilizing excel
Analysis of cash flows and preparation of 13-week cash flow forecast models
Able to work with minimum supervision
A strong aptitude to be a dynamic leader and ability to clearly communicate to a wide range of audiences including C-level executives, lawyers and lenders
Independent, intuitive thinker with the ability to apply accounting skills and business acumen in a variety of unique challenging, one-off, real time assignments
Experience in drafting Court reports and viability studies
Strong client development skills and enjoys the social aspects of marketing to key targets
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
Ability to execute on deliverables in a deadline driven environment
Thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast paced and complex environment
Results oriented with a sense of urgency. Quick learner, self-starter and exudes a “can do” attitude
A strong ability to connect with and build relationships with key stakeholders and internal Grant Thornton team
Access to a car and possession of a valid driver’s license, and ability to travel to the US is required
