Qualifications
We are looking to fill this position immediately. We are seeking a reliable, self-motivated Maintenance Technician to service a diverse portfolio of properties across the Lower Mainland, including but not limited to hotels, restaurants, and residential buildings. This mobile role is ideal for someone who thrives on independence, problem-solving, and hands-on work in a fast-paced environment. The technician will be the first responder to maintenance issues, expected to assess, contain, and resolve or escalate problems as needed to protect property and minimize disruption.
Requirements:
8+ years experience in maintenance/ Handy man
Punctual, reliable and dependable
Be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
Can lift up to 50 lbs and perform other physically demanding duties
Be the first on site when issues arise; assess and perform emergency repairs or safely shut down water or power systems as needed
Perform general maintenance and minor repairs including: Unclogging sinks and toilets, fixing leaks and minor plumbing issue, light electrical repairs (e.g., fixtures, switches), small drywall patching and painting, appliance and restaurant equipment troubleshooting, locks, doors, window glass replacement
Conduct routine property, building, and equipment inspections
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner
Move furniture and assist with deliveries of tools, parts, and supplies
Load and unload tools and materials into the work vehicle as required
Enter detailed notes and time tracking into the company’s app
Read and follow work orders, manuals, schematics, and blueprints
Follow verbal and written instructions from managers
Coordinate with maintenance team and external contractors when needed
Use hand tools, power tools, and basic plumbing/electrical tools safely
Access crawlspaces, roofs, and climb ladders when necessary
Skills and Qualifications
Experience with general building maintenance (real estate, hospitality, or restaurant settings an asset)
Solid understanding of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and lock systems
Calm and quick-thinking in emergencies; able to stabilize issues safely
Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills
Organized, self-directed, and comfortable working independently
Tech-friendly—able to navigate maps, apps, and digital work orders
