The position of Barista / Front of House Server at Gladstone Brewing Co. is a pivotal role, as you are one of the primary faces of the brewery. Whether you’re pouring a West Coast IPA, crafting a perfect tulip latte, or serving one of our in-house burgers, you understand that people come for quality—and you help deliver it.
From our humble home-brewing roots in a garage on Gladstone Avenue in Victoria, BC, Gladstone Brewing Company has become a cornerstone of the Comox Valley—an energetic hub of craft, collaboration, and community. With numerous brews under our belts and more on the horizon, we are constantly innovating. We are looking for teammates who bring skill, positivity, and a desire to grow with us.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Coffee Barista Duties:
Execute all espresso-based drinks to a professional standard.
Latte art proficiency is non-negotiable. You must be able to consistently pour clean, defined latte art (heart, tulip, rosetta, etc.) with every drink.
The first step in our interview process will be a practical latte art demonstration.
If you are not confident in your latte art skills, please do not apply. We deeply respect your time and ours.
Maintain a clean, efficient, and organized espresso bar at all times.
Demonstrate solid knowledge of milk steaming technique, shot pulling, and proper drink construction.
Uphold coffee quality standards through consistent calibration and care.
Engage guests warmly and knowledgeably about our coffee offerings.
Service Duties:
Set a high standard of service and professionalism with both guests and colleagues
Understand and describe Gladstone’s beer styles with confidence and enthusiasm
Accurately take food and drink orders and relay them clearly to the kitchen
Deliver food and beverages efficiently and accurately
Maintain thorough product knowledge, including cider, wine, and all non-house beverages
Present yourself professionally in line with company policy
Follow opening and closing routines, including set-up, tear-down, and deep cleaning
Record maintenance or damage issues and report them promptly
Respond appropriately to capacity limits, guest conduct, and heated situations
Complete nightly reports and shift logs
Assist with keg rotation and cooler stocking, including minor lifting as needed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Latte art skill (mandatory)
Serving It Right certification
Previous experience with espresso equipment required
Craft beer knowledge is a great asset
