Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in low voltage systems, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various telecommunication and networking equipment. This role requires a hands-on approach and the ability to work independently or as part of a team to ensure the successful operation of low voltage systems.

Responsibilities:

· Installation of network cable, fiber optic cable, conduit, etc in shipping terminals and office buildings.

· Termination and fusion splicing of fiber optic cabling fiber strands, lacing in splice. enclosures, performing OTDR and Power Meter testing.

· Running cables through OSP pull boxes and duct banks as well as aerial.

· Installation of conduit and cabling up High Mast Light Poles

· Terminating network cables, installing patch panels including Category 5, 5E, 6, 6a,

· Perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground

· Mounting and installing security cameras, access control panels, WiFi access points, and Location Sensors

· Working on aerial scissor lift / boom lift

Skills:

Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low. The employee will be standing, walking, climbing, balancing, crawling, crouching, lifting, holding or stooping while on shift. Work will be performed on a working shipping terminal with large truck traffic.
You have previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry
You have knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
You are able to work in a boom lift and work aloft up to 80 feet
You are able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as; maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction)
You are able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
You are able to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-call
You are able to maintain a safe work environment
You are able to work in all weather conditions
You are able to travel when travel is required
You may have experience splicing of active passive equipment
Ability to work in a bucket truck or boom lift and work aloft on poles up to 80 feet
Ability to work while wearing safety boots, safety glasses and hardhat
Requirements:

· Must be able to qualify for a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card for security clearance (https://www.tsa.gov/disqualifying-offenses-factors)

· Must be 18 years old

· Must have a CA driver’s license (required)

· Experience level: 1 year
