How will you make an impact in this role?

The Senior Analyst, Brand Advertising will play a key role on the team by assisting in the execution of breakthrough and impactful campaigns that strengthen the American Express brand in the Canadian market. The right candidate will have a strong creative eye and ability to lead innovative work through collaboration and partnership with internal stakeholders as well as external agencies.

The main responsibilities of the role include:

Supporting the execution of the annual brand marketing plan in Canada, including agency briefings, creative development, communications, analysis, and budget management, in partnership with the Global Advertising and Brand Management team, Corporate Affairs and Communications team, and Integrated Agency Team.
Partnering with different business units to develop strong creative and media strategies to support product launches, refreshes and other key above-the-line priorities in the market outside of the annual brand plan.
Leading the execution and implementation of global sponsorships and activations in the Canadian market, most notably the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix.
Build and leverage relationships with internal teams (including Marketing, Global Advertising and Brand Management, Corporate Affairs Communications, Legal, and Compliance) and external Integrated Agency Team.
Gather data and insights from campaign reports including brand lift studies and brand consideration measurement to inform business decisions.
Assist in managing the annual Canadian brand budget following both local and central budget processes.
Act as expert on brand guidelines, reviewing and providing guidance to local marketers as they develop creative communications.
Minimum Requirements

1 – 3 years of experience in Advertising and Communications in house or at an agency.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with emphasis on brief development and presentation to internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.
Strong creative eye with passion for advertising media, and the ability to think strategically on how to best communicate our brand, products and services to Canadians.
Experience bringing campaigns and projects to life from conception to execution (briefing, project management, stakeholder feedback, budget management and more).
Highly motivated self-starter – you think strategically and execute with operational excellence, while managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Terrific team player – you build strong relationships to champion ideas, initiatives, and projects across internal and external stakeholders.
Growth mindset – you’re willing to learn, ask questions, and be creative.
An understanding of the Canadian advertising landscape, including an awareness of innovative opportunities and trends within the market.
