This role supports the Transportation Group with efforts towards creation and standardization of workflows, work instructions, processes, supporting documentation and templates in support of compliance. You will work with different Transportation operations teams to prioritize business process for new account onboarding, for roll out and expansion of new services and ensure that existing standards are maintained.

The Process Training Specialist will be able to speak to the process, will be able to train operational teams, small and larger groups on the process using various tools; video training, online training and/or training conducted as group meetings.

Equally important is that this person be a SME to our Transportation processes and best practices, be an advocate for compliance and apply a lean approach in support of the work, services, and requirements that we have committed to our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the creation of operational documentation and process, these include: workflows, work instructions, bulletins, SOPs, training documents, etc.
Generating and maintaining documents to provide operations a reference, manual or guide to use as they seek to execute the service requirements set out for a particular department or account.
Coordinating work priorities and ensuring deadlines are met for a project or assignment.
Ensure all documentation are created with the input and approval of the business stakeholders.
Responsible for liaising with various levels of operations and inter departmental teams to understand the process and train the teams as needed.
Maintain good working relationship with all levels of Operations and the Transportation Group
Supporting operations management to implement programs and policies to bring efficiencies, reduce costs and improve the customer service experience.
Communicate effectively and conduct training across various levels of Operations
Responsible for following a standardized approach to create consistency, allowing the team to clearly and easily follow best practices, promoting adherence to the processes.
Act as a liaison between different internal departments, service providers, customer, warehouse, fleet/drivers, etc. when carrying out new roll outs and changes.
Ability to communicate and escalate to management and stakeholders when requiring intervention or guidance.
Perform assessments to ensure accuracy of documentation, update documentation as needed.
Own, manage and maintain a documentation repository for the Transportation Group.
Prepare training plans, local and national roll outs.
Support all the Transportation Group; Operational teams, Managers, drivers/fleet with training and guidance to ensure best practices are met and properly carried out.
Maintain training rosters and ensure proper sign off and compliance is met.
Roll out training programs on as needed basis; in preparation for peak period, to improve and maintain quality of service, where new documentation is needed and required to be shared out with the Operations teams, in support of efficiencies and improvement.
Education Experience:
Completion of secondary school or college, solid understanding of business administration
Supply Chain certification, diploma or degree a strong asset
5 yrs. 3PL experience is preferred, transportation and/or warehousing
Experience in training is a strong asset (training small or large groups).
Background and knowledge in business administration
Demonstrated strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Extensive experience writing processes, translating business requirement into clear, concise work instructions that can be easily followed.
Knowledge of logistics and planning systems; TMS, WMS, network routing planning
Strong knowledge with computer system hardware and software.
Exceptional analysis and reporting skills required.
Ability to work effectively in a high-demand and diverse work group, with priorities that are ever changing.
Project Coordination/Project Management experience is a strong asset.
Access to a vehicle to travel between Metro Supply Chain locations for process assessment, reviews, as required
