Job description
We’re looking for a proactive, adaptable and collaborative Senior HR Advisor to join our friendly and growing HR team at Bevan Brittan. You’ll play a key role in delivering a high-quality, generalist HR service, supporting the full employee lifecycle and making a real impact across the business. Applicants will ideally have HR experience working with fee-earning professionals and even better within the legal sector. This is a fantastic time to join a forward-thinking law firm with a strong focus on people, values, and responsible business. You’ll be working in a fast-paced, professional environment where you’ll be trusted to take ownership and contribute ideas.

The role will report to our Senior HR Business Partner (SHRBP) and will be based in our Bristol office. We work in a hybrid model, providing staff with the equipment needed to work effectively from home on an agile / hybrid basis with most people in the team attending the office one to two days per week depending on their preference.

We are keen to fill the role quickly (but are of course happy to wait for the right candidate to serve any notice needed) and therefore encourage you to apply as soon as you are able.

Main Responsibilities
• Partnering with HRBPs and managers to deliver expert advice on employee relations, engagement, performance and people development
• Leading and supporting on HR projects and process improvements
• Coaching and mentoring junior HR colleagues
• Managing key HR lifecycle processes including induction, maternity, absence, and exit interviews
• Playing an active role in the salary review, promotion and bonus processes
• Leading on monthly payroll for your business area and supporting annual appraisals
• Supporting delivery of our Responsible Business strategy, including wellbeing, DI and sustainability

What we're looking for from you
• CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience) with strong up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
• Experience operating at HR Advisor level in a partnership or professional services environment
• A strong collaborator who builds trusted relationships across all levels of the business
• Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage competing priorities with confidence
• Someone who takes ownership, brings a positive mindset and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team
