Job description
Project Architect / Senior Architect Role Overview
A design-led, award-winning architecture and construction studio is seeking a Project Architect or Senior Architect to join its expanding team in West London. Specialising in high-end residential projects across prime London postcodes, the studio combines architectural excellence with construction expertise under one roof, offering a truly holistic approach to design and delivery.
This role offers hands-on involvement throughout the full project lifecycle—from client briefing and concept design, through technical detailing and planning, to site coordination and final delivery. It’s an excellent opportunity for a talented architect with strong design sensibility, technical know-how, and team leadership skills to step into a senior, client-facing position.
Key Responsibilities for this Project Architect / Senior Architect Role
• Take ownership of architectural projects across all RIBA stages, with a focus on high-end private residential schemes.
• Collaborate closely with clients, offering informed design guidance and managing expectations from early concept to completion.
• Coordinate design input across internal teams including interiors, project management, and construction.
• Contribute to the preparation of planning applications, technical packages, and construction drawings.
• Attend and lead site visits, design meetings, and client presentations.
• Support junior staff and contribute to the development of the architectural team.
• Ensure all architectural output aligns with current UK Building Regulations and best practice.
• Manage time, resources, and design risk effectively to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
Skills Experience for this Project Architect / Senior Architect Role
• ARB-registered / RIBA Part III qualified Architect.
• A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience, ideally in high-end residential work.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating delivery of high-quality private residential projects, including work within conservation areas.
• Confident working across all RIBA stages with a solid understanding of planning, detailing, and construction.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, InDesign, and Excel is essential; experience with SketchUp and Adobe Suite advantageous.
• A proactive, organised approach with a keen eye for design and detail.
What’s on Offer
• Competitive salary in line with experience (£45–50k).
• 20 days’ holiday + bank holidays, a 3-day Christmas break, and an additional day per year of service up to 26 days total.
• Choice of working hours (8am–5pm or 9am–6pm).
• Office-based role within a friendly, open-plan studio environment.
• Regular team socials and a supportive workplace culture.
• Exposure to the full project journey, including design, construction, and project management.
• Opportunities for career growth within an ambitious and collaborative studio.
What This Project Architect / Senior Architect Role Offers
• A key role within a respected multidisciplinary practice.
• The chance to work on some of London’s most prestigious private homes.
• Scope to develop your leadership and client management skills.
• The opportunity to help shape the design direction of bespoke residential projects.
• A platform for creativity, responsibility, and long-term professional development.
