PR Intern – General PR
Role Overview:
A role in the Global Comms team, to help support PR and Marketing activities and grow your knowledge of the world of Comms.
Working closely with the PR Managers, you’ll be assisting with the writing and approval of press releases, conducting media sell ins, scheduling PR events, conducting research and much more.
You will work closely with PR agency partners, as well as other department teams, such as Product Marketing, Field Marketing and Content, to determine their PR needs and grow your business understanding.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Internal Support
Supporting the PR and Marketing Managers with day-to-day work and campaign management, e.g.:
Drafting of press materials e.g. press releases, comments, quotes
Drafting copy for the internal newsletter/ensuring the PR SharePoint is up to date with the latest information and key items of coverage
Drafting campaign briefing documents
Liaising with and approvals from business leaders
Updating internal comms pages/calendar Training on the Emarsys Marketing Platform
Input to campaigns planning, ensuring plans include story angles, messaging, research, earned media, paid media and social media recommendations (PESO), liaising with the PR team social media intern.
Keeping the business informed by managing and updating the sales and marketing calendar with PR plans, ensuring press releases are published on website with an appropriate banner image and distributing relevant coverage reports to stakeholders
Ensuring all spokespeople are fully media trained, co-ordinating media training sessions where necessary and briefing spokespeople ahead of media interviews
Supporting webinars and events (as well as the yearly ‘PTTM Festival’ event)
Overseeing budget approvals, including raising POs and ensuring internal processes are adhered to
PR for the PR team – maintaining a database of SAP newsletters and ensuring PR content is included in a timely manner.
Agency Support
With the support of the PR Manager: day-to-day global PR and broadcast PR agency liaison, to maximise coverage opportunities and amplify existing coverage with dedicated local programs, including:
Attending weekly agency meetings
Working with the PR agencies, to develop materials / toolkits for localization
Driving media relations to increase and amplify reach in all regions
Supporting on reactive PR and helping agencies respond to relevant news stories with the right spokesperson comment
Ensuring PR is measured and reported back meaningfully by:
Pulling together and helping to improve coverage reports, ensuring agency post campaign wraps measure brand uplift and future recommendations
Your Profile
Any qualifications considered
Excellent written and verbal communication
Good attention to detail
Strong research and analytical skills - comfortable analysing and interpreting data to shape stories
Organised and adaptable in managing workload / workstreams
Comfortable speaking to media and stakeholders
Good understanding of and experience using social media platforms
Proficient in Microsoft Office
You can work minimum 30 hours per week
