Are you a friendly, mature Christian with a heart for gospel ministry, who is highly organised, detail oriented and with excellent administrative and computer skills? If so, you may be suited for this role as Parish Administrator at St Stephen’s Anglican Church, Normanhurst.
St Stephen’s is a growing church of nearly 700 members, with four Sunday congregations and vibrant children, youth, young adult and all-age family ministries. Our mission is to Know Jesus and Make Him known. Our ministry vision is to see a community committed to Jesus as Lord, transformed by grace, living for his glory, sharing the good news.
This administrative role is a key role within the parish—supporting the staff team, wardens and volunteers to ensure that the ministries can operate effectively and grow sustainably. You will be working collaboratively within a team environment, and will be able to multi-task, use current software and communication technologies, communicate effectively with a variety of people, and improve and maintain systems. Bookkeeping experience is desirable.
Experience using Google Suite, high level word processing skills using Microsoft Office Suite, and experience using (or an ability to learn) Canva, Elvanto, Mailchimp, Asana, GHC, XERO (Accounting), and Presenter software and systems is an important aspect of the role. Experience with updating websites and social media, alongside the use of Affinity or other graphic design software is desirable.
This is a part time position of approximately 23 hours per week. Flexible working hours are negotiable, and it is not required that you work Sundays, nor attend Sunday gatherings as a member of the parish. Please contact our office for a Position Description for detailed information on the role and responsibilities.
In keeping with Fair Work Australia, this position is remunerated in accordance with Clerks - Private Sector Award, with the classification level based on applicant's experience and qualifications. Australian citizenship or permanent residency is essential.
Please apply by sending your expression of interest, including CV and names of two referees, to Baden Stace (Senior Minister) at office@ststephens.church or call 02 9487 3730 if you would like more information.
The position commences from 1 September 2025 (or as soon as possible after this date).
