Career opportunity: Human Resources Health Safety Manager

Are you a collaborative and detailed human resources professional looking for a great opportunity to grow within an industry-leading organization?

We are one of the largest suppliers and manufacturers of construction products in Canada and the US for the past 50 years. They are looking for an HR/Health Safety Manager to join their dynamic and high-performing team.

Location: Courtice, ON

On-site

Key Responsibilities:

The manager will support the organization’s human resources strategy by hiring top-level applicants, support the organization’s safety training programs, and ensure that performance standards are met by employees. They will:
• Assist with the recruitment process by identifying candidates, performing reference checks, and issuing employment letters.
• Assist with performance management procedures, disciplinary letters, records of conversation, and attendance records.
• Schedule interviews and orientations with new employees.
• Support administration of all WSIB related claims
• Support management and employees to develop and implement appropriate return to work and modified work programs
• Provide internal safety training and periodical safety talks
• Perform incident investigations, recommend, and implement corrective actions
• The manager will work closely with the Plant Foreman and operations supervisors along with senior management to discuss fit, training, discipline and periodic evaluations.

The skills and knowledge you bring:
• Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or related (essential).
• 3 years of experience as an HR coordinator (essential).
• Exposure to Labor Law and employment equity regulations.
• Effective HR administration and people management skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
