ROLE OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources the Human Resources Coordinator acts as a first point of contact supporting various administrative and operational tasks, ensuring compliance with company policies and employment standards. The HR Coordinator also serves as a liaison for employees and managers, addressing inquiries and providing support on HR-related matters to foster a positive and productive work environment. HR Coordinators also partner with leadership to support in the execution of aligned human resources programs and initiatives successfully across the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Administration
Ensures completion of required onboarding documentation, e.g. hiring authorizations, employee information forms, offer letters, etc.
Oversees HR compliance programs by tracking and following up with stores who are non-compliant, including but not limited to LMS, OHS, WCB.
Supports Neighbourly’s health, safety wellness programs, safety initiatives, including injury prevention and ability management.
Assists with general administration of the Learning Management System, Statistics Canada responses and audits, as applicable.
Track and monitor employee work status reporting including but not limited to SIN, Work Permit expiries, Active Employees reports. Work with key stakeholders to action as required.
Employee Relations
Responds to inquiries and concerns, providing guidance and recommendations for problem resolution or redirecting and escalating as appropriate.
Provides support to managers around compensation plans that align with company programs, including supporting the approval process for off-cycle merit increases, annual compensation review, annual vacation true-up, and annual benefits reselections.
Supports the acquisition process through documentation review and responding to HR admin inquiries.
Supports short-term and long-term disability processes as applicable. Participates in return-to-work processes.
Support in confidential and potentially sensitive internal investigations when required and as directed, using established procedures for consistency and compliance.
Supports annual engagement survey process, including action planning follow-up.
Participates in projects relating to regional or national human resources, and supports in execution and follow-up relating to organizational initiatives
Performance Management
Provides guidance to management regarding reinforcing expectations and/or any minor issues related to employee performance, productivity or behaviour based on established policy, practice and/or contract.
Reviews documentation and prepares letters of discipline when required, supporting the process to ensure positive outcomes. Escalates to HRBP as appropriate.
Talent Development
Facilitates orientation and training processes with new managers and/or staff as directed.
Assists with facilitation of Neighbourly’s training programs as needed.
HR Metrics: Supports in providing data/analytics to leaders relating to Human Resources and other related operational metrics to support business reporting, planning and management
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Bachelor’s degree or Diploma with a Human Resources focus.
CPHR Designation an asset but not required
One to two years of experience in a Human Resources capacity
Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Strong organizational skills to balance multiple tasks and projects at one time
Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs, with advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to navigate and utilize technology platforms including HRIS, Learning Management systems, and other software.
