Associate Lawyer – Commercial Real Estate

About Us
Our client is a leading Bay Street law firm with a strong and well-established commercial real estate practice.
Responsibilities
• Advise on a broad range of commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, and commercial leasing
• Act on secured lending and real estate financing transactions for lenders and borrowers
• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase agreements, leases, financing documents, and ancillary agreements
• Conduct and manage real estate due diligence and closings
• Coordinate with internal corporate, banking, and tax teams
• Manage files with partner oversight and increasing autonomy
• Support partners and senior lawyers on active real estate mandates
Job Details
• Full-time associate position based in Toronto
• Collaborative, mentorship-driven environment
• High-volume, fast-paced practice with sophisticated clients
• Opportunity to take on responsibility early and develop strong file ownership
Requirements
• Member in good standing of the Ontario Bar
• 2+ years of call (flexible depending on fit and experience)
• Training at a Bay Street or comparable firm in commercial real estate
• Strong transactional foundation in real estate law
• Experience with acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and real estate financings
• Commercially minded, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Comfortable operating in a demanding, deadline-driven environment
• Strong communication skills and team-oriented approach
