Join HOOPP as a Private Markets Legal Counsel to lead complex investment transactions in Toronto. Contribute to a top-tier pension plan emphasizing private equity and debt expertise. Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) is expanding and looking for a skilled lawyer with 5-10+ years of experience in private markets transactions.
You will be instrumental in providing legal counsel across investment management and risk divisions. The role requires a proactive approach to managing legal risk and responsibility for global investment files. Key Responsibilities:
• Offer strategic legal support on private equity and infrastructure deals
• Oversee complex investments and legal risk management
• Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
• Prepare and review transaction documentation
• Engage directly with senior management for legal insights Requirements:
• 5-10+ years in M&A or private equity transactions
• Familiarity with Canadian pension plans advantageous
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Strong judgment and business orientation
