Eaton’s Power Systems Division is currently seeking an Area Sales Manager to join the team. This role will support the British Columbia sales territory. Candidates should reside within 80km of Vancouver, BC or be willing to relocate to the area. Relocation assistance is available.


The expected annual salary range for this role is $+8362.44 - $144264.+1 a year. This position also includes a sales incentive plan.

What you’ll do:

The Area Sales Manager will utilize a digital solutions mindset and holistic selling strategy across Eaton’s Utility product lines. This includes managing the assigned customer base to increase sales in the local marketplace and providing application guidance and technical assistance to assigned customers. This role will be key in developing and implementing sales strategies to maximize profit margins and customer satisfaction, while fostering strong relationships with clients and negotiating sales agreements. You will assess product trends and client needs, presenting the benefits of Eaton’s products, providing technical assistance, and maintaining relationships with Eaton employees, engineers, contractors, specifiers, and distributors.


This role will utilize EatonCare and technical support resources available to sales, such as Eaton proprietary systems and software, including Salesforce, Bidmanager and VISTA. Applying technical knowledge for all products involved with the sales assignment, comprehension of project specifications and drawings, and the ability to gain confidence of customers and to become a trusted source of information about Eaton offerings will be essential to being successful as the Area Sales Manager.


Essential Functions Include:

Customer Engagement – Participate in the preparation and presentation of bids and quotations to customers using company price and delivery guidelines and use sound business judgment to enhance margins and establish a winning strategy. Provide technical solutions built around customer needs and ensure that accurate information flows to and from customers.
Quality – Support total quality efforts by providing timely and accurate information for order entry, elevating quality issues to attention of management.
Market Data and Forecasting – Implement new product programs as needed. Collect, assess, and utilize market intelligence regarding competitive products, customer needs, preferences, and buying habits. Work with management to improve on sales forecasting.
Reporting – Maintain up to date (weekly basis) project /orders in Salesforce for opportunity tracking. Provide necessary reports requested by management in a timely manner.

You possess in-depth knowledge of MV/HV power electrical products and demonstrate strong experience in preparing sales proposals that meet customer expectations. We are looking for candidates who are diverse in their backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and who can bring fresh and innovative ideas to our team.


Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

College diploma or university degree from an accredited institution
Minimum 8 years of electrical industry sales experience
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
CET or P. Eng designation
5+ years’ experience in the utility industry
CRM experience, including Salesforce
MBA
