Position Overview:
The Administrator, Control Group, Pension Benefits performs all banking and high risk functions including the reconciliation of CIBC bank accounts and internal suspense accounts. This includes completing requests to issue foreign wires, funding the accounts at BNY, and processing cash movements between CIBC and internal client accounts.
Responsibilities:
Maintain up to date knowledge on numerous operating systems required to complete job functions including Ariel, PIN, Nexen, Ideal Forex, Treasury Edge and CMO.
Liaison with CIBC to resolve posting issues to the DDA’s and client/pensioner banking issues.
Reconcile CIBC bank accounts as assigned (of 10) on a daily basis ensuring appropriate investigation has been completed and in depth documentation of reconcilable items, when it will clear for sign-off.
Review reconciliation issues and escalate to operational supervisors/managers when aged items exceed internal standards to ensure Administrator action.
Reconcile the Reversal and Suspense IMMS accounts and provide documentation to Fiduciary Control daily.
Maintain information on the ideal forex and treasury edge systems for pensioners and lump sum payments ensuring reconciliation is completed and funds are transferred to BNY account on settlement date for foreign currency wires and ACH payments.
Process cash movement between various CIBC, IMMS and Operating accounts and forward to authorizer.
Resolve problems with the clearing department of CIBC on behalf of the Pension Benefit Department.
Verify the payment status of cheques, and void payment transactions when required.
Process daily stop cheque requests directly on CMO system.
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
College or University degree with focus on business, finance or equivalent training.
1-3 years progressive experience in a related field
Experience with the reconciliation process
Prioritization and time management skills; the ability to multi-task and meet daily deadlines
Excellent attention to detail
Good interpersonal skills
