Warehouse Lead
Job Description
The Warehouse Lead oversees day-to-day warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety standards. They manage receiving, warehousing, and transfer activities, maintaining inventory levels and implementing FIFO practices. Additionally, they collaborate with various departments to develop and enforce policies, supports quality and food safety programs, and contributes to cost reduction initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Supervises the warehouse in compliance with company policies.
2. Oversees receiving, warehouse, and transfer operations.
3. Maintains inventory levels within established minimum and maximum quantities.
4. Works together with the Inventory Control Specialist to ensure rotation and FIFO (first in, first out) practices for all raw materials and finished goods.
5. Supervises warehouse employees and provides necessary training.
6. Ensures completeness and readiness of customer orders for shipping or pickup.
7. Works with the Director of Supply Chain to monitor overtime and address attendance or performance issues.
8. Works with the Quality Assurance department and Operations Manager to develop and enforce necessary policies and procedures.
9. Maintains warehouse areas in a high state of cleanliness and sanitation.
10. Actively contributes to company cost reduction and continuous improvement efforts by monitoring overtime and waste.
11. Ensures maintenance of safety standards.
12. Supports the Food Safety Program.
13. Supports the SQF Program.
14. Supports the FSMA Program
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
A. High school diploma or equivalent.
B. A minimum of 2 years in a warehouse lead position in Receiving, Inventory Control, or Food Manufacturing is required.
C. Computer proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
D. Ability to pass a background check, including criminal history.
E. Minimum of 1 year experience operating a sit-down forklift.
F. Ability to obtain forklift certification within a specified time frame and maintain it valid throughout employment.
G. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, overtime, and holidays, as required.
H. Knowledge of and adherence to warehouse safety protocols.
I. Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
J. Capability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
K. Familiarity with First In, First Out (FIFO) and inventory management procedures.
L. Bilingual in English and Spanish is a preferred.
M. Possession of a valid driver's license and clean driving record (minimum 3 years with no incidents).
N. Prior experience driving a 26ft box truck is a plus!
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
a. Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
b. Capability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods.
c. Agility to maneuver in varying warehouse environments, including tight spaces and elevated areas.
d. Stamina to sustain physical activity throughout the shift.
e. Aptitude to perform repetitive tasks with precision and efficiency.
f. Dexterity to handle and manipulate inventory items safely.
g. Physical coordination to operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, electric pallet jacks) effectively.
h. Endurance to work in a fast-paced environment and withstand fluctuations in temperature and humidity.
SCHEDULE
Evening Shift - 12pm- 8:30pm, Sunday- Saturday ability to work any day of the week and Overtime as needed.
