We are seeking a passionate, patient, and creative teacher to join our dynamic after-school activity centre team. The ideal candidate will have a love for working with young children, nurturing their social, emotional, and cognitive development through engaging activities, and ensuring a safe, supportive environment for exploration and learning. This role is perfect for someone with experience in early childhood education and a genuine desire to help toddlers thrive in their early developmental years.

Key Responsibilities:
• Teach and Engage: Plan, prepare, and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in areas such as motor skills, social interaction, creativity, language, and problem-solving.
• Provide Supervision and Support: Ensure the safety and well-being of all toddlers in your care, supervising them during activities and play, and maintaining a calm, positive environment.
• Monitor Development: Observe and assess individual progress, noting milestones and areas needing attention. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share updates on each child’s development.
• Create an Inclusive Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every toddler feels valued and encouraged to participate. Adapt activities to meet the diverse needs and abilities of children.
• Collaborate with Team Members: Work closely with other teachers, caregivers, and staff to ensure smooth coordination and consistency in lesson plans, activities, and general operations.
• Maintain Cleanliness and Safety: Ensure the learning environment is clean, safe, and organized, with age-appropriate materials and equipment readily available for the children.
• Behaviour Management: Use positive reinforcement techniques to guide toddlers’ behavior, helping them to develop self-regulation skills and understand boundaries.
• Support Transitions: Assist with smooth transitions between activities and guide toddlers as they navigate the routines of the after-school setting.
• Foster Communication Skills: Encourage toddlers to express themselves, helping them build language skills through songs, books, and interactive conversation.

Qualifications:

•⁠ ⁠Proven experience working with toddlers or in early childhood education (preferably 1-2 years).

•⁠ ⁠Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

•⁠ ⁠Patience, empathy, and the ability to work well with young children.

•⁠ ⁠Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.

•⁠ ⁠A passion for working with children and supporting their growth and development.

•⁠ ⁠High level of proficiency in English

Work Environment:

The role will primarily involve working in a structured after-school setting with toddlers aged 16 months-7yrs. The teacher will be responsible for organizing a variety of activities and must be able to work effectively in a busy, high-energy environment.
