Manchester Islamic Grammar School for Girls is an independent all-girls secondary school for students aged 11–16, located on the Fielden Campus, West Didsbury, Manchester, M20 2PQ. West Didsbury is an affluent suburb of South Manchester, ideally situated with easy access to bus and tram routes into Manchester city centre. It is a vibrant area, offering a balance of cosmopolitan energy and a village-like atmosphere.
We are a relatively small school of approximately 290 students. Alongside our partner schools, KD Grammar School for Boys and Manchester Muslim Preparatory School, we form part of the highly successful Manchester Islamic Educational Trust, founded in 1991. We have been rated Outstanding in our last three Ofsted inspections.
Our mission is to prepare, engage, and enthuse our students by helping them identify their talents and build on their strengths. We offer a fully enriched SMSC programme, enabling students to demonstrate their skills beyond the classroom and develop into responsible adults who contribute positively to both their communities and the wider society. As a Muslim school, faith is at the heart of everything we do and is central to the school’s ethos.
At Key Stage 4, students follow the Edexcel GCSE syllabus for Computer Science and a vocational qualification for iMedia, providing clear pathways for both academic and creative digital skills.
