Key Responsibilities
• Provide comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to expectant mothers.
• Monitor the progress of labor, fetal heart rate, and maternal vital signs.
• Assist in the management of pain during labor, including administering medications as prescribed.
• Administer oxytocin and other medications to induce or augment labor, as needed.
• Assist in conducting deliveries, including monitoring the health and safety of both mother and baby.
• Provide immediate care to the newborn, including assessment, resuscitation, and stabilization.
• Assist with postpartum care, including monitoring vital signs, facilitating breastfeeding, and offering emotional support to new mothers.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring all data is up-to-date and confidential.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including obstetricians and pediatricians, to ensure the best possible care.
• Educate patients and their families on various aspects of pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum care.
• Adhere to all hospital policies, protocols, and safety guidelines.
