Main Responsibilities
1. Specialist Teaching and Learning Responsibilities
§ Deliver well-planned, differentiated PSHE and general subjects lessons tailored to the needs of learners with SEND.
§ Support students in developing key personal and social skills, such as emotional regulation, relationships, personal safety, health, and self-advocacy.
§ Incorporate Functional Skills, communication, and cross-curricular themes where appropriate.
§ Use data and assessment tools such as Boxall Profiles and engagement scales to monitor progress and inform planning.
2. Advocacy and Collaboration
§ Act as a form tutor and be an advocate for pupils social, emotional, and academic progress.
§ Collaborate with therapists, TAs, and external professionals to support student development holistically.
§ Promote a positive, respectful learning environment that values diversity, individuality, and inclusion.
3. School and Professional Development
§ Contribute to the continued development of the schools PSHE programme and broader curriculum offer.
§ Take part in staff training, supervision, and whole-school development opportunities.
§ Be proactive in sharing good practice and engaging with CPD and performance management systems.
