Attractive VPS 5 salary between $113,022 - $136,747 + superannuation
What does the business unit do?
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.
Operations
The purpose of the Operations directorate is to lead the emergency operational coordination and state operations in Victoria by working with communities, government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
The role works on a rostered basis. The incumbent will be required to work outside normal business hours and on weekends.
What will the role do?
Lead coordinate a team of emergency management staff within the State Control Centre (SCC).
Key tasks include:
Ensure effective and efficient systems and processes for the operation of the SCC.
Act as SCC Room Manager.
Provide high quality supervision, mentoring and performance management of emergency management staff (both permanent and surge) within the State Control Centre (SCC).
Undertake the role of key contact at the SCC for staff from across Government who may undertake a role in the SCC during activations.

What skills and knowledge should the SCC Operations Lead have?
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
Demonstrated knowledge of Victoria's emergency management arrangements is desirable;
Understanding of the State's Command and Control arrangements that operate within Victoria is desirable;
Demonstrated experience with coordination within emergency management activities is desirable
Experience and a skillset in people leadership
