Education: Bachelor's degree. Work setting: Nursing home/home for the aged. Tasks: Assist health care practitioners during examinations or treatments . Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients' condition. Address and document symptoms and changes in patients' conditions. Assess patients to identify appropriate nursing interventions. Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team to plan, implement, co-ordinate and evaluate patient care in consultation with patients and their families. Conduct disease screening. Deliver health education programs. Engage in research activities related to nursing. Operate or monitor medical apparatus or equipment. Provide consultative services regarding issues relevant to nursing profession and nursing practice. Provide nursing care. Provide supportive counselling and life skills programming. Supervise licensed practical nurses and other nursing staff. Perform administrative tasks. Supervision: Staff in various areas of responsibility. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : CPR Certificate. Eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse by the province/territory of work. First Aid Certificate. Licensure as a Registered Nurse by provincial or territorial authorities. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Immunization records. Vulnerable sector check. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Fast-paced environment. Large workload.
