About the Role
We are looking for a seasoned backend engineer to join our team at Awign. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of experience in backend engineering and team/project leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Technical Oversight Code Reviews: Provide technical direction and conduct rigorous code and schema reviews across code and DB stacks to ensure performance, maintainability, and compliance.
• Client Communication Alignment: Act as the primary technical liaison with the client's Infra, InfoSec, and Development teams—clarifying requirements, validating deployment plans, and aligning on access, ports, and audit policies.
• Architecture Validation: Own confirmation of containerization strategy (Docker), data flow structure, and tech stack compatibility with on-prem constraints—ensuring future scalability and modularity.
• Data Format API Contract Finalization: Lead the definition of ingest data specs (transaction activity), normalisation rules, and monthly batch window constraints. Finalize API response schema and peer comparison logic.
• Security Compliance Leadership: Vet token management strategy, Redis TTL and invalidation logic, and secure secret storage mechanisms, aligning with SBI's enterprise security expectations.
• Documentation Sign-offs: Own all technical documentation: infrastructure diagrams, sequence diagrams, data flow specs, and configuration checklists required for SBI IT approvals.
• Sprint-Level Technical Guidance: Support the product and engineering team with technical confirmations on edge-case handling, architectural trade-offs, and milestone-go/no-go decisions.
Requirements
• Strong hands-on experience with: Node.js (NestJS) for API services
• Python (High level understanding) for ETL and AI pipelines
• MongoDB – schema design, replica setup
• Redis, Docker, and shell scripting for Linux VM environments (High level familiarity)
• Understanding of enterprise security protocols, enterprise technology infra
• Experience coordinating with enterprise clients, especially BFSI, on network access, deployment approvals, data sharing, and security reviews.
• Strong communication skills — must be able to lead technical discussions with both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
