The Role
Joining the Early Learning Programs and Youth Division at the Department of Education is an opportunity to work in a dynamic priority area of Government, ensuring quality early childhood education and care (ECEC), and leading national policy reform alongside State and Territory Governments.
As a Policy or Program Officer (APS5), you will be part of a forward-thinking team doing meaningful and interesting policy development and program delivery work.
Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
Maintaining an understanding of relevant policy, and performing research work and analysis tasks (including data).
Undertaking activities to support effective and compliant grant management, delivery and reporting.
Drafting policy and program related documents including briefs, standard operating procedures, project reports, guidance material and ministerial correspondence.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders in relation to policy and program development and implementation.
Assisting with governance activities including contract management, project management and coordination tasks.
Contributing to ongoing improvement of policies, procedures and reporting.

Eligibility
Citizenship - to be eligible for employment with the Department, you must be an Australian Citizen or, in limited circumstances, in the process of obtaining it.
Security Clearance - our successful candidate is required to hold, or have the ability to obtain, and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
