Key Responsibilities

· Set up a termly teaching timetable in consultation with the Head of Music and amend this should the need arise to provide flexibility (e.g. because of school trips or events)

· Deliver 25-minute lessons on a rotating timetable appropriate to the standard of the allocated pupils on a weekly basis

· Assess and keep a record of pupil progress and provide updates on progress and achievement as required

· Follow exam board specifications as appropriate and prepare pupils fully for examinations

· Advise and encourage pupils to take advantage of appropriate musical activities, such as ensembles, competitions and other musical opportunities

· Prepare pupils fully for performances and auditions

· Contribute to the extra-curricular music programme by attending and/or performing in concerts as required

· Work under the direction of the Head of Music to ensure that all public performances are rehearsed in advance and to maintain excellent performance standards
