Monday to Friday, hours are between 8am to 4:30pm

- Are you passionate about supporting individuals on their journey towards mental health well-being and recovery?

- Do you have personal experience in navigating mental health challenges and have a strong desire to make a positive impact in the lives of others?

- Do you have at least 2 years experience working as a PSS?

We have an exciting opportunity for Peer Support Specialists to join our new service located in Waitemata, Auckland.

You'll bring your own knowledge and experience of mental health challenges to the role. Use the Cover Letter to describe your journey, focusing on your pathway to recovery and what you currently do to enhance your recovery lifestyle!

Our Peer Support Specialists will work alongside our clinical staff to provide individualised and invaluable support to clients because together, clinical and peer roles can achieve great things!

Ngā pūkenga me ngā weako - Skills and experience

You must have your own personal lived experience of mental health challenges, gained recovery and be willing to share this experience in your work.
Resilience, having worked through life’s challenges, and continuing to use the skills and supports you have gained in recovery.
Understands and practices resilience and wellbeing strategies personally and at work
Trained in Intentional Peer Support or be willing to do this training
Knowledge of issues for tāngata whai i te ora (person who is seeking wellness) impacted by mental health challenges and distress
Understands and is committed to the principles of recovery
Clear verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Can confidently use Microsoft suite applications
A current clean NZ driver’s licence
Cultural competence with a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Ability to be a positive role model to others with a good sense of humour and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
You work within an ethical framework with strong boundaries.
