Robotics / Computer Programming Teacher (Part-Time) Somerset Cultural Centre, Knowle Hall, Bawdrip, Bridgwater

Bring the world of robotics and coding to life for the next generation of innovators in a vibrant, cross-cultural learning environment!

Key Responsibilities

Plan, develop, and deliver exciting, hands-on sessions in robotics and computer programming.
Encourage innovation, collaboration, and problem-solving through project-based learning.
Support students in building essential 21st-century skills, including coding logic, algorithmic thinking, and digital creativity.
Adapt your teaching to meet the needs of both EAL (Chinese) and local learners.
Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that promotes student engagement and confidence.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and align with the Centre’s educational mission.
Monitor and manage teaching resources, submitting requests to the Education Coordinator or Office Administrator as needed.
Maintain discipline and ensure student safety in accordance with safeguarding and health safety policies.
Contribute to the development of enrichment activities and the broader STEM offering at the Centre.
Respond positively to reasonable requests that support the effective running of the Centre’s educational programme.
Working Arrangements

Part-time: Approximately 2 days per month during UK school term times
KS3 classes (up to 30 students), including a mix of EAL (Chinese) and local students
QTS essential
The role is scheduled during UK term time, though occasional availability may be needed during Chinese student group visits outside of these dates
Staff are expected to contribute to a welcoming and professional environment for all visitors
