Ocean LCL Transport Planner

Job description
Freight Forwarder based in Basildon are looking for an experienced LCL Ocean Transport Planner to join their team.

Salary around £(phone number removed)

Hours 8.30am - 5pm

Based in Basildon

20 days holiday + NYE or Xmas Eve

Private healthcare after 2 years

Role will include;
• Ensure as many jobs as possible being requested by customers are planned to be completed
• Plan jobs in such a way to be most cost efficient
• Ensure all problems are reported and, where possible, rectified as quickly as possible
• Ensure the smooth running of all collections deliveries
• Plan collection/delivery jobs with approved 3rd parties
• Ensure that all customer requirements are adhered to (e.g. time-constrained jobs)
• Follow all internal procedures to ensure compliance to all relevant laws and requirements in areas

such as:
• Health safety
• Dangerous goods
• Road safety security
• High value freight

This includes ensuring that drivers being planned to carry out jobs are appropriately qualified
• Keep in regular contact with 3rd party suppliers to monitor journeys and any potential issues.
• Including providing clients information on aspects such as traffic problems
• Keep in regular contact with customers to inform them of any issues
• Ensure all runs are inputted onto Phoenix
• Arrange transfers between warehouses into loading depots
