Nestled within the leafy grounds of the Kingston Centre in Heatherton, the Boollam Boollam Aged Care Centre offers a state-of-the-art, purpose-built centre that is dedicated to comfort, dignity, and excellence in aged care. With 150 beds across four thoughtfully designed floors consisting of 15 bed houses, our modern infrastructure supports a warm, home-like environment—tailored to meet the unique needs of every resident.

The home is supported by a diverse team of nursing professionals including Nursing Coordinators, Nurse Managers, Associate Nurse Managers, Registered Nurses, Graduate Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Healthcare Workers who all work collaboratively with our Nurse Managers and Facility Manager.

Are you a skilled and experienced nursing professional ready to lead and coordinate clinical operations at a site-wide level? We are seeking highly motivated Nursing Coordinators to join our team and play a pivotal role in ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care across our centre.

Due to open in late 2025, we are currently recruiting for ongoing Nursing Coordinators positions with both Full Time and Part Time positions available. You will have the opportunity to submit an expression of interest for your desired fixed roster which is designed to meet operational needs while promoting work-life balance.

About the Role

As the Nursing Coordinator, you will be the senior clinical contact for the centre, responsible for overseeing bed management, resident access and flow, site emergency response, and the coordination of nursing resources. You’ll act as a key liaison between clinical teams and leadership, ensuring that care delivery aligns with Monash Health’s strategic directions and the Foundations of Care.

This role requires strong clinical leadership, sound judgment in high-pressure situations, and the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

Coordinate bed management and ensure equitable and timely resident access

Act as the Site Emergency Controller, managing emergencies in accordance with protocols

Respond to occupational exposure incidents in the role of Occupational Exposure Coordinator

Oversee and support the clinical coordination and deployment of nursing/midwifery staff across the site

Actively identify, manage, and escalate clinical and non-clinical risks to the Director of Clinical Operations

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support continuity of care across the resident journey

Ensure compliance with evidence-based care standards, privacy legislation, and clinical documentation standards

Provide leadership in policy development, clinical governance, and quality improvement initiatives

Manage operational portfolios, projects, and performance reporting as required

Responsible for identifying and reporting to the Serious Incident Reporting Scheme (SIRS) out of hours.


About You

You are a Registered Nurse with substantial clinical and leadership experience, dedicated to upholding high standards of care and driving operational excellence. You bring proven skills in relationship building, effective communication, conflict resolution, and facilitating open, collaborative discussions.

You can demonstrate recent leadership and management experience, including change and safety leadership, coaching and development, motivating teams, and managing performance. You are a culture driver, promoting person-centred care, adaptability, respect for diversity, innovative thinking, evidence-based practice, and strong self-management.


You will bring:

Valid NDIS Clearance and completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module (essential)

Valid police check clearance including a renewal every 3 years (essential)

Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (essential)

Postgraduate qualifications in nursing leadership/management (or working towards completion – (desirable)

Extensive clinical, managerial, and leadership experience in acute, aged, or complex care settings (essential)

Ability to manage clinical risk and respond effectively in emergency situations

Highly developed communication, coordination, and decision-making skills

Demonstrated commitment to person-centred, evidence-based care

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willing to complete within 6 weeks of commencement)
