About the Role

As a Nurse Specialist, you will play a crucial role in utilising your advanced nursing skills to conduct comprehensive assessments, employ diagnostic reasoning, and implement effective management options for patients with hereditary gastrointestinal cancer syndromes. Your specialist knowledge in rare, complex conditions will be instrumental in providing personalised and top-tier care to our patients.

About the Team/Service

The New Zealand Familial Gastrointestinal Cancer Service (NZFGCS) is a national service and is part of the National Bowel Screening Programme (NBSP) strategy, providing assessment, diagnosis, management advice and care for those individuals and families who have a familial predisposition to gastrointestinal cancers. The national office is based in Auckland hosted by Te Toka Tumai with other offices in Wellington and Christchurch.

About you

As a Nurse Specialist, you will deliver care across a variety of settings, case coordinating to enhance an integrated patient journey.

* RGN, RGON, RPN, RCpN with or without BN or BHSC (Nursing) * Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ) * Evidence of competence to practice within the Registered Nurse scope of practice * A current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) * PDRP Proficient or Expert or with a supported pathway * Specialty knowledge and practice expertise. * Postgraduate certificate/diploma in specialty nursing practice. * Working towards completion of Masters Degree in Nursing or health-related area * Knowledge of quality improvement processes and principles.
