Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
A strong maintenance team seeks a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineering Technician to join their manufacturing facility. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role will provide maintenance services to the production team, ensuring maximum plant uptime.
This position involves planned preventative maintenance, maintenance inspections, corrective maintenance, and continuous improvement projects. As a mechanical technician/fitter, you will demonstrate competence in welding and fabrication, pneumatic hydraulic control systems, conveyors systems, screw feeders, lean dense phase conveying systems, and automated process control.
You will be part of a small team, working independently and providing assistance across functions as required. Occasional assistance with electrical maintenance tasks may also be necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor plant performance and condition to identify potential breakdowns before they occur.
Operate within the maintenance schedule to ensure consistent maintenance of all plant across the site.
Be actively involved in new plant installations/modifications from the design stage through to final commissioning.
Work with the site management team to ensure that all current plant operates to its full capacity.
Ensure all safety checks are completed and any maintenance required is logged, reported, and remedial action taken.
Provide an on-call service to the site as part of a rota.
Maintain all tools and equipment in a clean and tidy condition.
Apply the Health, Safety Environmental Policy.
Qualifications and Skills:
Background in Mechanical Engineering/maintenance or similar (e.g. HNC/HND with a Mechanical Engineering bias).
Desirable: Experience of maintaining conveyors systems, screw feeders, lean dense phase conveying systems, and automated process control. Pro-active approach to Health Safety and high level of process safety essential.
Requirements:
Certified to 3268 welding skills/fabrication skills or equivalent.
Certified competence for pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
Demonstrate compliance with relevant Health Safety legislation.
