As a Manager Financial Accounting at HSBC, you will be responsible for managing complex accounting events such as manual journals crucial for ledger close, providing robust accounting insights, and business analysis for TB analysis, substantiation, exception management, and book closure. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing monthly and quarterly GRCA/FINREP/GSIB reporting, Regulatory Reporting MI, and manual returns.
- Preparing and reviewing B/S P/L schedules, consolidated final accounts per IFRS, and annual reports & accounts.
- Demonstrating strong analytical skills for variance analysis and preparing advanced level Analytical Review (AR) and Group Review Schedules (GRS) for regional submission on a quarterly basis.
- Reviewing and approving all journals, ensuring technical knowledge of accounting and reporting principles.
- Prioritizing work efficiently, meeting KPI timelines under stringent deadlines and high-pressure situations.
- Maintaining documentation per RCA and SOX requirements, ensuring adherence to group policies, IFRS reporting requirements, audit controls, and compliance requirements.
- Supporting transitions of new processes, executing transformation and integration initiatives, and delivering process improvements.
- Achieving efficiency in operations, maintaining work-life balance, and fostering knowledge sharing within the team.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- CA/CPA/ACCA/MBA/ICWAI with a minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Prior experience in reporting profiles, strong knowledge of Site Reporting at Financial Institutions, and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
- Experience in managing small teams in specialized functions and excellent communication skills.
- Very strong Excel and Access skills, change and transformation experience, and good knowledge of FTP/HUB/PSGL/CODA, etc.
- Previous tenured employment with a Financial Institution, experience of working cross-border in a multinational organization, and a proven track record of leading by example.
