Job summary
We are looking for an experience Band 7 or 8a to step into the role of lead nurse for Uro-Oncology Nursing service. The role can be part time, full time or job share.
The post holder will acknowledge and provide the overall responsibility for the Uro-Oncology Nursing Team including the Cancer Support Worker role.
This service is a county wide service with teams based in both YDH and MPH.
The post holder will be required to cover both sites.
Main duties, tasks skills required
The post holder will acknowledge and provide the overall responsibility for the provision of specialist nursing advice and support to patients and families, in-patient and out-patient, throughout their care pathway.
The post holder will utilise skills of clinical expertise, leadership, education, and management to ensure a seamless service for patients, carers and staff. They will provide advice, support and information from the time of diagnosis and throughout care pathway
They will demonstrate advanced clinical practice, service development and improvement, initiating and disseminating research and education.
They will work closely with the multidisciplinary team in hospital and the community to ensure a co-ordinated quality service, leading on education, audit and research.
The post holder will be joint MDT lead of cancer speciality, engaging team and leading discussions.
The post holder will be professional lead for other cancer speciality CNS teams
The post holder will have a demonstrable clinical portfolio that evidences clinical skills equivalent to that of a senior clinical member of staff.
The role will be mainly strategic/operational facing bur will require a maximum of 40% clinical caseload within the Urology-Oncology team
