Inventory Control & Shop Operations Coordinator
Job Description
We are looking for a sharp, highly organized Inventory Control & Shop Operations Coordinator to take complete ownership of our inventory and daily tech staging. This is a hybrid role for someone who is detail-oriented with numbers but loves being on the shop floor. You will be the backbone of our daily efficiency—ensuring our inventory data matches reality and our technicians have exactly what they need to keep our service bays moving.
Responsibilities
Inventory Mastery: Take total control of our stock counts for new/used tires, custom wheels, and critical hardware (nuts, bolts, hub rings, TPMS sensors).
Daily Tech Staging: Review the daily service schedule ahead of time. Physically pull, organize, and prepare the exact tires, rims, and hardware for our technicians' daily installs so they never lose momentum.
Digital Tracking: Maintain 100% accuracy in our cloud-based system using barcode scanners and digital inventory tools.
Receiving & Quality Control: Inspect all incoming shipments from suppliers, verify packing slips, catch errors immediately, and ensure everything is flawless before it hits the racks.
Shop Optimization: Organize the tire stacks, wheel rooms, and hardware bins so perfectly that any team member can locate any part in 30 seconds or less.
Workflow Support: Keep a pulse on shop flow, communicate with front counter sales and the tech lead, and make sure parts bottlenecks are eliminated before they cause a delay.
Skills & Qualifications
Scarborough Native/Local: Must live locally with a reliable, short commute to our Scarborough shop.
Detail Obsessed: Tire sizes, bolt patterns, and offset numbers leave zero room for error. You must be naturally precise and proud of running a tight ship.
Tech Comfort: Experience with digital inventory systems, barcode workflows, or modern shop software (QuickBooks, scheduling apps, etc.). No coding required, just digital competence.
Physical Capability: This is a hands-on role. You must be comfortable lifting and moving tires and wheels safely throughout the day.
Automotive Familiarity: Previous experience at an automotive parts counter, tire shop, or warehouse fulfillment role is a massive asset. You should know the difference between an all-season and an all-weather tire.
Problem Solver: A self-starter who looks at a messy rack and automatically figures out a better way to organize it.
What We Offer
Competitive Pay: $18.00 - $26.00/hour depending on experience.
Performance Bonuses: Extra incentives tied directly to inventory accuracy and shop efficiency.
Zero 401/DVP Commute: Work close to home in Scarborough and skip the brutal daily highway traffic.
Great Shop Culture: Join a tight, skilled independent team (and hang out with our two awesome shop dogs every day).
Pay: $17.20-$23.00 per hour
Benefits:
Company events

Application question(s):
This is a hybrid role. It requires managing digital inventory on a screen/scanner AND physically lifting, stacking, and moving heavy tires and wheels all day to stage them for techs. Describe a past role where you successfully balanced desk/data work with physical labor.
In the tire industry, a tiny mistake—like grabbing a 114.3mm bolt pattern instead of a 112mm, or missing a single hub ring—can completely shut down a service bay. Tell me about a time in your past job where your attention to detail caught a mistake before it affected a customer or a teammate.
Imagine walking into our tire storage room and finding it completely disorganized—tires scattered, hardware bins mixed up, and no clear system. Walk me through the first 3 steps you would take to bring order to that space.
