For Rocky Christian School in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta

Applications are invited for a Probationary Full-Time teaching position, providing instruction (0.6 FTE) in various subjects in grades 3 to + (to be determined) and ILST Support (0.4 FTE) for Pre-Kindergarten to Grade +. This position can be reduced to a part-time (0.4 FTE) ILST only position, by agreement between the successful applicant and the school. (Please indicate in your application if you are applying for the ILST position only.)

Inclusive Learning Support Teachers (ILST) are teachers who are knowledgeable about inclusive education and are skilled at facilitating collaboration and sharing best practices. The ILST supports the equity of access to quality programming and resources for all students. The ILST works with learning teams to provide students with the opportunity to access learning environments that are the least restrictive and most responsive. Preferred candidates will have a minimum of 5 years of successful teaching experience. Knowledgeable about inclusive education and skilled at facilitating collaboration, sharing and modeling best practices. Building staff efficacy is essential and Level B assessment certification will be considered an asset.

Preferred candidates will have training appropriate to teaching in a wide variety of grades in a Christian School environment. Preference will be given to the candidate that is enthusiastic and a lifelong learner. Familiarity with and/or willingness to participate in the Prairie Centre for Christian Education, “Teaching for Transformation” program will be required.

Duties will commence with the 2025/2026 school year on August 25, 2025.

Rocky Christian School is an alternative program in Wild Rose School Division, devoted to providing a distinctly Christ-centred education. Rocky Christian School has approximately 170 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade + and nine faculty members.

A complete package will include a cover letter, resume, copy of their Alberta teaching certification, names and contact information for three professional references, a pastor’s reference, a statement of Christian faith, and a statement of educational philosophy/beliefs in a single Google or pdf document. The successful applicant will be required to provide an original, satisfactory, and recent (within six months) Criminal Record check with vulnerable sector as a condition of employment.
