What will I be doing?

As Hotel Accountant for Hilton Queenstown Resort and Spa you will be providing financial support, advice, and expertise to the Finance Manager and hotel team generally, with the aim of maximising value, and within the limits of established Hotel policies and procedures and New Zealand legal requirements. The role is based in Auckland. More specifically you will:

Review and post daily revenue.
Perform bank reconciliations.
Complete the monthly balance sheets reconciliations.
Prepare and submit the required statutory reports including (but not limited to), GST Return,
PAYE Return, Kiwi Saver, FBT, NRWT and Statistics NZ.
Prepare month end journal vouchers for posting to the general ledger.
Assist in preparation and analysis of month end management reports, including but not limited to PL, balance sheets, and cash flow.
Liaise and co-operate with both Internal and External Audit.
Ensure proper permits and licenses have been obtained for such matters as importation, currency transfers and hotel operations (bars, gaming etc.). Take responsibility for the safekeeping and updating of all leases and contracts, which may affect the financial status of the hotel.
Other tasks as assigned by Finance Manager.

Previous Accounts/Finance experience in a high volume department, preferably within a hotel environment preferable

Demonstrates positive involvement and interaction with the overall Hilton team both at an individual, team management level.
