Job description
Guitar Teachers

The Guitar is an iconic part of our cultural fabric, and a fun and enjoyable instrument to play at all skill levels. It helps to build concepts of harmony, can be enjoyed with as few as 3 learned chords, and fits into practically every style of music on earth. It is, without doubt, one of the most popular instruments of our time.

Guitar has always been a crucial part of the experience here at Merriam, and our department’s guitar lessons consistently produce excellent players.

At our music school, joining our team as a guitar instructor isn’t just a job; it’s a career. There’s room to grow your salary, explore your own musical journey, and hone your skills as a professional educator.

You’ll work with a professional administrative team to ensure that schedules are well planned, students are well-matched, tools and training are there when you need them, and that above all, your work as an educator is recognized by all stakeholders.

As you gain experience, training, and skills, you’ll have the opportunity to advance within the school and play increasingly important roles in helping to shape students’ lives and the future of the school.

A Guitar instructor position at Merriam is evidence that a “music teacher job” doesn’t need to be part-time, temporary, or unfulfilling. In fact, it’s entirely the opposite, and to learn more, we hope that you’ll apply to join our team.

These artists act as adjudicators, guest lecturers, course contributors, remote coaches for elite students, and content contributors.
