Future Pathways Coordinator
We are seeking an experienced educator (not necessarily a teacher) to become our Future Pathways Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for equipping students with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to shape meaningful academic, vocational, and personal pathways. This position is ideal for someone with a solid understanding of the secondary school setting and experience in careers education, transition planning, or senior pastoral care. Success in this role will also rely on your ability to network effectively and establish strong relationships with tertiary institutions, industry partners, and the broader community.

This is a full-time, permanent position ideally commencing in time for the start of Term 4 2025. If the successful candidate was a teacher, they would be expected to manage a small teaching load.

With a national and international reputation for excellence, Scots College is a world-class independent school with a strong Presbyterian Heritage. It is a fully co-education, IB World School in the eastern suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand, and comprises three schools in one: Junior (Years 1-6), Middle (Years 7-10), and Senior (Years 11-13). We provide our students with an excellent and holistic education within a vibrant learning environment with the aim of allowing them to contribute as global citizens who think creatively, reason critically, communicate effectively, and develop the necessary skills to learn. For life.

Scots College offers dual pathway options for its senior students, delivering both NCEA and the IB Diploma, for which we are fully authorised. We are also authorised for the delivery of the Middle Years and Primary Years Programmes.

Applicants should have:

Experience working in a similar role.
Relevant tertiary qualification in education, career development, or a related field (preferred).
A willingness to work with students and inspire them to find the direction that most suits their skills and personal aspirations.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with students, families, and external partners.
Excellent organisational and event management skills.
Strategic thinker with a passion for student development and future planning.
Ability to work collaboratively with staff while taking initiative and working independently.
Proficiency in using and implementing technology to streamline processes.
A commitment to our special character.
If you are motivated by the prospect of being a part of a dynamic teaching environment and would enjoy the challenges of this exciting role, then we would be delighted to hear from you.

Applications close on Wednesday 13 August 2025 and are to include a covering letter and current CV detailing at least the last five years of work history. Please also provide the names of at least two recent referees.
