Preferred Qualifications, Background Skills

The successful candidate must possess a Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education from a recognized Post-Secondary Institution
Registered member with the College of Early Childhood Educators
Experience working with children and their families of all abilities
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
Ability to lift children up to the age of 4
Possess excellent verbal written communication skills.
Knowledge of relevant acts, legislation and frameworks, including but not limited to: Child Family Services Act, Child Care Early Years Act How Does Learning Happen? ELECT Document
Up to date immunization and health assessment as per the local Health Requirements
Current First Aid/CPR Level C Certificate is required
Current Criminal Check Vulnerable Sector screening
Responsibilities

Maintain a clean organized classroom
Take initiative in out of the classroom
Support children in their daily routines
Plan, implement reflect quality programming. Ensure it is developmentally appropriate enriches the needs of each child
Attentively care for each child, understand his/her needs and goals
Foster curiosity through the foundations of learning
Maintain accurate documentation via attendance/Hi Mama additional reports
Maintain Health Safety Standards, fire safety requirements
Participate in Quality First initiatives
Be a lifelong learner
