Purpose of Role
We’re recruiting for a Finance Assistant to support the work of the Group Reporting and Shared Service team. Working alongside the wider finance team, you’ll provide financial support to ensure that operational and financial performance are on track to meet company strategic objectives and that reporting is meaningful and informs business decision making.
The day to day
• Raising retainer, project and OTC fee invoices for complex clients. Covering the day to day billing (as required) to ensure client invoices are sent on a timely basis
• Roll over of revenue reconciliation files each month
• Invoicing rechargeable third party costs in a timely manner and ensuring WIP items are matched off regularly to ensure WIP ageing is correct
• Responsible for managing and overseeing the maintenance of the WIP Ledger for Grayling UK
• Responsible for escalating to the Head of Revenue and Head of Shared Services any aged client jobs
• Responsible for managing monthly revenue reconciliations – ensuring these are up to date and revenue reconciles to the finance system
• Acting as front office contact for WIP and billing queries for various teams in the UK
• Assisting other members of the revenue team as and when required
• Management of a cost centre PL and overseeing the month end process
• Managing intercompany accounts for the above mentioned PL – responsible for liaising with other intercompany entities to ensure there are no reconciling transactions outstanding at the end of WD1
• Preparing and posting all standard journals for above mentioned PL in Maconomy
• Oracle balance sheet and PL submission into FCCS for above mentioned PL
About You
• You hold a relevant degree in finance, accounting, or a related discipline
• You have strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail
• You are confident working with large data sets and financial systems, ideally with experience in Maconomy or similar tools
• You are an effective communicator who can collaborate with colleagues across departments and levels
• You take ownership of your work and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• You are proactive, organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities
• You bring a problem-solving mindset and are comfortable escalating issues appropriately
• You are eager to learn and grow within a collaborative finance team environment
