Experienced Developer

Are you the app developer we are looking for?

We are looking for an enthusiastic developer who can leverage the framework we have built upon Windows Forms to implement feature requests from our clients. You can take the 'why' and 'what' provided by the BA team and create the 'how'. You will add new fields and screens to existing apps and make new applications that help retail teams succeed. You understand OOP and are a whiz at creating concrete models and views that implement the base framework. You can dig through the OOP layers to understand how things work and achieve your solution.

You have a thirst for knowledge and are not afraid to ask questions about our design methodology and choices. You will forgive us for some of those choices.

We are always growing, so we need experienced Desktop C# (WinForms) and SQL developers to meet the needs of our customers. Our product is an on-prem retail management system (ERP) built in C# with data kept in SQL Server, moving to the cloud over time. We have been in business for 40 years and are looking forward to being around for many more.

If you can commute to our offices in Kumeu, that helps. This is a steep learning curve and being onsite means learning quickly and getting all the help you need from the good folks around you who will invest in your learning. This means it’s beneficial to be onsite full-time in the first six months of this role, and to still be onsite as much as possible after that.

We’d like you to bring to the job:

4+ years developing in Desktop C# or VB.Net.
Experience in .NET framework 4.5 or later.
Familiarity with XUnit unit testing framework.
SQL database design and development skills.
Familiarity with distributed source control (we use git in Azure Devops).
Ability to work independently, while also knowing when to ask for help.
Willingness to dig into technology you may be unfamiliar with.
Pride in doing a good job.
Some experience in Flutter would be helpful.
