Visits for people in custody are crucial to maintaining strong community ties and supporting the well-being of people in custody by facilitating meaningful and secure interactions with their loved ones, attorneys, and essential service providers. It's a dynamic area that requires innovative solutions and compassionate leadership to navigate complex logistical and human-centered challenges. Reporting directly to the Associate Commissioner for Security Operations, the successful candidate for this position will lead the day-to-day management, oversight, and support of all aspects of visit operations and experience across the department. With latitude to exercise independent judgment and decision making, the selected candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

- Lead, manage, and direct the central visits operations team, including uniform and non-uniform personnel.
- Ensuring visit operations is in compliance with all relevant laws, minimum standards, regulations, and departmental guidelines.
- Oversee all aspects and visitation areas, including scheduling, security protocols, visitor registration, and security screening.
