Job Overview
To manage and deliver all aspects of the venue and catering operation at the Merlin portfolio of venues while ensuring an excellent client relationship is maintained and developed. Running events from conception to completion in our unique and iconic event venues, aiming to remain a market leader through constant innovation. Ensure the continued strategic development of the events offer, proactively identify the needs of the business, and embed processes it should take to succeed. Compliance with all Statutory Law regarding Health and Safety, Fire Safety and Security protocols; optimising profitability; improving standards and communications across the company and the venue.
Operational planning
• Plan and deliver events across the venues as required, from sales handover, through to the event night and post event communication.
• Recommend and source accredited suppliers that meet the clients brief.
• Communicate effectively with all internal departments that may be involved with or affected by an event taking place within the venues.
• Liaise with external suppliers prior to and on the event regarding access to the building, deliveries, timings, HS
• Ensure staffing levels are controlled to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness at all times.
• To book in all catering and event staff with relevant agencies ensuring the pre-event deadlines are adhered to and that all purchase orders are raised in advance.
• Producing kit and liquor orders a minimum of a week in advance to be sent to the warehouse.
Event Management
• Manage Merlin accredited suppliers list (including but not limited to production companies, florists and furniture companies) specifically deliveries, collections, security, pre-rig and de-rig.
• Always manage the integrity and fabric of the buildings especially in the planning, delivery and de-rig of all corporate and private events.
• Responsible for the direction, supervision and discipline of all suppliers, catering and production staff whilst on the premises.
• Responsible for ensuring correct dress code is adhered to.
• To be present throughout the entirety of the event, maintaining regular contact with clients and staff
Qualifications
• First Aid at Work (Desirable)
• Personal License (Desirable)
• Food Safety Level 3 (Desirable)
