The role
A newly created position exists in the Property Services team at Crown Sydney for an experienced Engineering Services Manager. Based on-site, this role is key to driving reliable operation, maintenance and life cycle planning of all the engineering systems related to facility services, reticulation, controls and plant and equipment infrastructure throughout our luxury property in Barangaroo.
Reporting into the Senior Manager - Maintenance Operations, you’ll oversee the operational and technical management of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, air conditioning, boilers, water treatment, building controls, fire safety, and vertical transportation systems, ensuring all on-site services and infrastructure project work is completed to Crown Resorts standards and specifications.
Crown Sydney is a 24/7 business that operates within a unique and complex property, requiring someone with a high-level of knowledge and expertise to help deliver the luxury experience and expected by our guests. We’re looking for a forward-thinking, innovative and solution-oriented engineer who responds tactically to issues that may arise, and takes a strategic approach to facilities management, using modern methods and technologies to apply corrective action.
Some of the key responsibilities will involve:
Operational management of all technical infrastructure on-site, including planned and preventative maintenance, breakdown response and contractor management
Managing the Building Automation System to ensure accurate configuration, monitoring and controls strategies that are aligned to business needs
Ensuring the function of all mechanical equipment during fire alarms including the full functional testing requirements
Monitoring and reporting on plant equipment, whilst evaluating and measuring reliability
Assessing performance of assets and addressing outstanding issues, work order completion and cost of work
Monitoring maintenance contracts and their performance, whilst reviewing contract arrangements as required
Conducting regular contractor meetings to review conditions, obtain service reports and initiate actions as applicable
Leading, coaching and mentoring junior maintenance operations team members, contributing to their development
You’ll have:
A Bachelor / Honors degree in Engineering, with significant experience in a built environment
Experience with large, complex building automation systems in a manufacturing, retail and/or commercial environment is advantageous
Deep project and financial management experience with ability to identify, justify and monitor expenditure to enhance mechanical facility performance in-line with budgets and forecasts
Experience with energy efficiency and implementing sustainability upgrades on mechanical plant and controls
Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders at all levels
Ability to work at pace without compromising on detail, safety or impacting guest satisfaction
Knowledge or skills in sustainability or energy efficiency will be highly regarded
