Job Title: Paramedic, Emergency Medical Technician.
Location: travel, 1 hour radius
Employment type: part time, guaranteed minimum 4 hours per shift, competitive pay, no nights, no weekends, no holidays. Work is per diem, usually scheduled 1-4 weeks in advance. Usually arrive at dental offices between 7-10am, workday lasts 2-8 hrs/day.

Job Description: We are looking for proficient, experienced, professional, compassionate, and amiable paramedics to assist the physician anesthesiologist with equipment and supply set up, patient care, recovery, and safety.
Job Responsibilities:
*Assist physicians in any matters related to patient care on the day of procedure.
* Administer diligent care via monitoring, assessment, intervention, and continuous reassessment, as appropriate, of pediatric dental patients recovering from anesthesia/ sedation with guidance and oversight of pediatric anesthesiologist.
* Monitor patient’s vital signs, respiratory rate, heart rate, pulse ox, B/p, temperature, cognitive status, and general overall condition. Record VS, signs and symptoms, and any significant or notable events in the postoperative period on the anesthesia record. Monitor patients for conditional change, and report changes to anesthesiologist.
* Understand what equipment is available for use in the procedure room and recovery area, and how to use it.
* Discuss thoroughly with parents about what to expect after anesthesia/sedation, helping answer questions and making parents feel at ease. Review Post Op Anesthesia discharge instructions with parents thoroughly. Discuss any questions and issues with the anesthesiologist before the patient is discharged.
* Ensure the patient meets discharge criteria, and document it, before discharging the patient from the facility.
* If necessary, assist the patient into a cab, automobile, car seat, or stroller during the discharge process.
* Keep the recovery area and equipment clean and sanitized.
* Assist with airway management, IV placement, patient comfort, and parental support.
* Set-up and take down of equipment and supplies, while cleaning them as well.
* Frequent communication and team work with anesthesiologist and dental team.
* Know the location, availability, and operation of supplies, equipment, and medications on site.
* Maintain PALS, ACLS, and CPR/First Aid certification, and make physicians aware of any changes to certification status.
* Conduct oneself with professionalism, dress professionally, work as a team, be willing to learn, and arrive on time.
Qualifications:
* Graduated from accredited Paramedic program
* New York State DOH EMS-Paramedic Certificate
* New York City REMAC Certification
* New York State driver's license
* CPR Card
* ACLS and PALS Card

Preferred Candidate:
* 10+ years full-time work experience as paramedic (may consider less experienced applicants)
Compensation: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour, depending upon experience, skill set, fit, and availability.
